IkerGazte 2017 is just around the corner and the UEU (Udako Euskal Unibertsitatea or Basque Summer University, www.ueu.eus) and the Organizing Commitee are pleased to invite you all to participate in this edition. This time IkerGazte will be in Pamplona on the Campus of The University of Navarra (NUP).

The first edition of IkerGazte was held in May 2015 in Durango and we then proved that there certainly is a Basque scientific community; a research community that does worldwide research in areas such as Arts & Humanities, Social Sciences, Natural Sciences, Technology and Architecture and Health Sciences. Berria, the local newspaper, then proclaimed that “research speaks Basque”. IkerGazte2015 was definitively a milestone and we are now picking up the baton and moving ahead in this second edition, IkerGazte 2017.

Whether you attended the conference or not, you now have the opportunity to be there, experience it and enjoy the ride. You will have the chance to meet other Basque researchers who work in areas close to yours or different ones. Have you just finished your PhD? Did you get your PhD 3-4 years ago? Are you close to finishing it? Now you have the opportunity to show and explain your project to the community of Basque Researchers!

For the conference opening we have an internationally renowned speaker. Regular sessions will include selected papers which will be presented as oral communications or posters. In order to promote interdisciplinary discussion among attendees, several workshops will be included in the program. In addition, various cultural activities will be organized in Pamplona during the conference. It will be possible to sleep over in Pamplona and we recommend attendees to do so.

The Organizing Committee encourages Basque researchers to submit original research papers on their related area. Articles must be written in Basque. For instance, the results from a research project or the conclusions from a PhD would fit well in the scope of the conference.

Selected papers will be published as digital proceedings with ISBN. Longer versions of some of the presented papers will be submitted for publication in specialized Basque scientific journals.
